Resident Evil 4 Remake Leaked Info Reveals Game is Next-Gen Only

state of play june 2022 leak

Numerous leaks about the supposedly upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake have been circling around online these days and this is one of them with some interesting details.

According to a Reddit user, he states that his source comes from a friend that has hacked the CAPCOM servers last year. He does point out that he cannot prove these leaks to be true, so take all of these with a grain of salt. It does have some interesting points that could possibly mean something. At least it is not from 4chan (which is pretty unreliable these days):

For starters, the leaker says that CAPCOM is well aware of the leaks that have been surfacing on the internet these days. This could be a good or bad thing as they could change their content later after reading all these looks to prove everyone wrong. It could even get better.

The game has been rebooted because the original idea was just like the original with improved visuals. CAPCOM had a different idea, which was to do something unique with simple changes that could “improve the experience.” They also took to heart the criticism they got from RE3 Remake. (Thank God)

The developers are supposedly calling this “The Chainsaw Project” and Sony Interactive Entertainment is offering a lot of PS5 timed exclusivity. We are talking here 6 months to a year but this has not been set on stone yet. Also, this will be a next-gen game only, which means only PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC with super-high requirements.

Now for some juicy parts. The leaker states that players can change between first and third person camera, has photo mode, a semi-open world, considerably longer and bigger than the original, and a lot of alternate skins and classic OST. Leon, Ada, and Claire voice actors and face models are being used. Leon has an older look with a beard.

There is even a connection with the upcoming Netflix Infinite Darkness series as a post credit scene.

The leaker has even revealed that one of the names that is considered to name the next sequel of the series is Resident Evil Exit. Yes, it looks weird, but hear me out. The I is in the E in Exit and the X, is literally X. So, IX, 9.

Again, take this with a grain of salt. CAPCOM has not confirmed nor denied these leaks about supposedly Resident Evil 4 Remake.
