CAPCOM has recently announced that the Resident Evil 4 Remake VR mode is now in development and will be a free DLC for the base game.

The news comes from the official Japanese Biohazard Twitter account which it stated that the VR mode of remake of the fourth Resident Evil game is now in development. “Stay tuned for more details,” it says. In a following Twitter post, CAPCOM clarified that the VR Mode will be released as a free DLC for PS5/ PSVR2.

Since the VR mode just got announced and the launch of Resident Evil 4 Remake is on March 24, 2023, it is plausible that the free DLC will be released later on, at best later this year. If it will take longer, it could perhaps launch at best within the next year.

VR mode for RE4 Remake will most probably have the same mechanics as the new VR mode for Resident Evil Village, which will launch today together with the PSVR2. It will have unique mechanics that only VR mode can have.
