CAPCOM has recently announced the launch of Resident Evil Village VR Mode together with the release of the PSVR2 headset to the world.
Resident Evil Village VR Mode will be available as a free downloadable content for all PS5 owners of the base game and the Gold Edition. There is also a demo for RE Village VR mode for download via the PlayStation Store.
RE Village VR Mode just maxes out the intensity of the award-winning eight-core entry of the RE franchise. This new DLC supports the full story campaign that follows Ethan Winters’ journey to rescue Rose, his kidnapped daughter.
The adventure has become more thrilling with VR as the mode takes full advantage of the PSVR2’s advanced features to transport players directly into the village. The game is shown in 4K HDR and offers eye-tracking technology and is further enhanced with 3D audio effects that add texture to the environment.
The whole experience is tangibly more immersive with the PSVR2 Sense functionality. The controllers enable players to interact with their surroundings with natural motions that mirror Ethan’s on-screen movements. This includes blocking enemy attacks by lifting Ethan’s arms, reloading, firearms with realistic actions, and exploring while holding up a map.
Resident Evil Village VR Mode also has VR Tutorial and Shooting Range modes that demonstrate the new VR gameplay systems.
