Game developer Housemarque has recently released a new HouseCast video talking about its upcoming psychological horror video game Returnal.

Housecast episode 2 features a bit of gameplay footage of the game and its origins. This was discussed by Game Director Harry Kreuger. He talked about how the game was originally called Dark Planet, how it begun, and the different inspirations the developers got during the development process.

The game director talked about how he and his colleagues talked about what they could do with this new project of theirs and what they would want to make if they did not get held back. This is where they got the ideas for time-travel, psychological horror, and space terror.

Returnal will launch as a PlayStation 5 exclusive on March 19, 2021.
