You can get the shovel inside a cave near the central part of the island. The cave is found right by the river, where three corpses are seen impaled in front of it.
The cave that the shovel can be found in is dangerous, as there are plenty of enemies that can spawn inside. You’ll also have little to no visibility, so you can easily get lost in it. So you’ll have to prepare first before venturing inside.
You might need the rebreather first before venturing inside this cave to get the shovel. There’s a large underwater section where you’ll have to swim to get across. You could make it without the rebreather, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. However, you will need the Rope Gun in order to get through this location. So you should get that first before heading in here.
Since there are enemies inside, you’ll need some weapons. Thankfully, you can find a slingshot on one of the corpses at the location. Though we still recommend at least a decent melee weapon as well.
Once you’re ready, head on inside. You’ll find the shovel at the end of the cave, in an illuminated area. It’s on the lap of a dead worker. Pick it up, and it’ll be added to your backpack.
