Craving for some fishy action? Well, I, too, am craving something fishy in Nintendo’s newest online multiplayer game, Splatoon 3. This game has created an unexpected wave of colors that even I am feeling artistic about. With all these competitive action features that the game has presented, there is nothing better than having some co-op action in the game.
In Splatoon 3, there is a Co-op mode called Salmon Run and there are many unknown factors to explore in that part of that game. We, of Sirus Gaming, have created some tips and pointers about this co-op experience that players will experience on it.
What is Salmon Run
Story Summary:
“Welcome to Grizzco, the dangerous and demanding side hustle for squid kids in Splatsville. Originally starting operations in Inkopolis, Grizzco was founded by Mr. Grizz, on his endless search for Golden Eggs. Now the company has moved to the Splatlands in search of more, and it is now your job to complete the shifts and harvest the eggs. Good luck.“
Game Mechanics:
Debuting from its predecessor, Splatoon 2, Salmon Run is a co-op mode where you and 3 other players team up together and take on waves of salmon-like enemies. Players must work together to collect Golden Eggs as they defeat the salmon-like enemies known as Salmonids and their bosses.
During the mission, players will be facing three waves of Salmonids including Smallfries, very large Cohocks, and more. Each stage varies in difficulty levels and there will be times when unexpected surprises appear during missions. Preparation and coordination with your teammates will be the key to surviving this difficult mission.
Weapons provided in the Salmon Run are fixed and will be rotated between team members on each wave. Weapons that bear Grizzco brand won’t be available on this feature. These stages will really test the credibility and skill of players and how proficient they are in handling them.
There are at least 6 difficulties that are found in the Salmon Run. Each level will earn players more rewards but will be more dangerous to experience. Some Hazard levels will be hard to face as they can reach up to 333%! The difficulty levels are:
- Apprentice
- Part-Timer
- Go-Getter
- Overachiver
- Profreshional
- Eggsecutive VP
The Bosses
Nothing can stay unchallenged forever in the Salmon Run feature of Splatoon 3. Including the enemy’s waves found there, there are bosses that players will face. Aside from the ones players have before, there are 6 new bosses added :
- Fish Stick
- a pillar with a few numbers of small fries flying around at the top. These small fries rain ink that covers the area surrounding Fish Stick.
- Flipper Flopper
- it shoots a ring of ink at players and when it lands on the ground, it covers the entire area of the circle. It will then splat anyone caught in the circle.
- Slammin’ Lid
- The Slammin’ Lid creates a barrier that protects Salmonids on the ground. It will try to crush any player that gets close to it so approach with caution.
- Big Shot
- Big Shot shoots heavy projectiles from a distance. When they land, it creates a shockwave that can splat players.
- Cohozuna
- King Salmonid Cohozuna was also announced during the Splatoon 3 Nintendo Direct. This huge salmonid sometimes wreaks havoc in the arena just before you finish a run.
- Big Run
- A new Salmon Run mode is coming as well. Big Run is pretty much like Salmon Run where players need to fight off hordes of Salmonids.
