GSC Game World has recently shared a new update of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 particularly in development.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Devs Back on Development
It has been two months since GSC Game World announced that it will pause its development of its latest upcoming title, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, due to the ongoing Ukraine vs. Russia war. The development team prioritized on keeping their staff safe from the war by leaving Ukraine and setting up a studio in the Czech Republic, just like what Frogwares did. Today, it seems the studio now has an update on what is going to happen next.
On its official discord server, GSC Game World announced to fans that the development of the fourth entry of the franchise is now going to continue. While this is good news for the fans who have been anxious after the developers paused development, another problem has now appeared before them. If development has been paused for two months, then a lot of processes have been stalled. This also means the release will now be pushed back further and possibly going for next year instead of the planned 2022 launch.
Not Launching with Buggy Game
GSC Game World has not made any official statements yet, but it is highly likely this is the situation that will happen later on. It would only make sense that the developers will have to delay the game to a later date so they could at least catch up after stopping for a while, and probably would be a good thing in order to polish the game more rather than releasing it incomplete and buggy. They would not want another Cyberpunk 2077 to happen.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl is now back in development. It will be available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
