Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake Gets Another Studio to Help Development

With the assistance of the new studio, development might go faster.

Another studio will be helping out Aspyr to work on Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake.

The makers of Evil Dead, Saber Interactive, will be the ones to help out Aspyr in the development of the remake. Board Member Matthew Karch recently spoke during the Q4 Embracer Group report to reveal the collaboration between the two studios in developing the remake. He calls the project a “massive product.”

“Aspyr has gone full in to make this the best game that they can make. When we acquired Aspyr, we knew from the start that they would require our assistance [and] Saber has tremendous expertise in creating these types of products,” Karch said.

“We’re fully confident that the game is going to be fantastic but it’s a massive, massive product and massive products require a lot of effort and a lot of time to make good. And especially when you’re talking about a game already old – very old – we’ve basically had to remake that game from scratch,” he explained. The board member then assured fans will hear more about the game “in the next several months”.

It is expected that this game will be appearing at the upcoming Summer Games Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley this coming June 9, 2022. No release window has been revealed, but if it does appear next month, a launch window might get announced.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake is going to be a timed PlayStation and PC exclusive.
