Monk Without a Cause is a side quest in Street Fighter 6 in which Retsu challenges the player’s skills. Completing this quest will also unlock a special gift that can be given to Ryu that can strengthen his bond with the player.

Monk Without a Cause Side Quest Walkthrough
To unlock the quest, you must first reach Chapter 4, then look for Retsu in Grand Avenue, Metro City. He will then challenge you to a match; regardless of the result, the Monk Without a Cause side mission will start. You will also be given x3 Herbal Cure-All and a Gold Chain Necklace.
This is a side quest that spans through chapters where Retsu will test your skills in a fight, so you will have to progress through the story of the game in order to trigger the next steps.
For the second step, progress through the story until you reach Chapter 8, then look for Retsu over at the Urban Park in Metro City. He will challenge you once more, but this time, you will have to win in order to progress through the side quest. Once you win, you will also be rewarded with Retsu’s Wristwatch.
For the third step, progress through the story until you reach Chapter 10. You will be able to travel to Nayshall, where you can find Retsu at the market. Go through the dialogue choices with him (any choice will do), and you will be rewarded with the Classy Confectionaries gift. This is one of the unique gifts that can be given to the Masters; this one is specifically for Ryu.
For the final step of this side quest, progress through the story until you reach Chapter 11-4. Check the message that you will receive from Retsu, then go to the end of the train track bridge. You will be challenged to a fight by Retsu one last time for this quest, and you need to win. After gaining victory, you will complete the quest and be rewarded with a Kick Booster and 5,000 Miles.
