Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Now Going Online

Games Done Quick recently announced that the physical Summer Games Done Quick 2020 event has been canceled and now will be done in digital form.

The physical event was to take place in Bloomington, Minnesota, but in accordance with the state guidelines surrounding the COVID-19 epidemic, it will be canceled. The online event will now happen on the official Games Done Quick Twitch channel. The runners there will participate from the safety of their homes instead.

The event has now been renamed as Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online and will run from Aug. 16-23 in support of Doctors Without Borders/ Medecins Sans Frontieres. 100 percent of all SGDQ 2020 Online donations will go directly to Doctors without Borders.

Games Done Quick Director of Marketing and Business Development Kasumi Yogi stated:

We’re excited to continue showcasing some of the most talented speedrunners in the world while observing best practices to keep everyone safe in the midst of a global pandemic.
