Tears of the Kingdom Elements and Link’s Abilities Patented by Nintendo

Nintendo has recently patented The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom elements and Link’s abilities.

Automaton recently reported that Nintendo has filed several patents related to Link’s Ultrahand and Fuse abilities from the game. It has patented the game’s loading screen, which is a special feature of the game. When players fast-travel, it will show the player where they currently are on the map and will then transition to the new location after the loading is complete.

Aside from the loading screen, the company patented the inability of the player to grab an object that they are already standing on. If Link is standing on a block, the player would not be able to use Ultrahand to move the block.

Another patent was the process of Link standing on a moving object and then continuing in the direction of that moving object. A few other abilities were also patented.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
