The Last of Us Part I PC delayed for a few weeks, Naughty Dog announced recently. It seems to be for a different reason, not the usual ones you hear from developers delaying their games.
The Last of Us Part I PC Delayed
According to Naughty Dog on its official Twitter account, it will be delaying the game from March 3 to the new release date of March 28, 2023. The PC version will only be delayed for a few weeks and will still launch within the month of March. Naughty Dog might have not clearly mentioned it in its new announcement, but it seems that the studio is delaying it due to the huge success of the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us.
Reason for Delaying PC Port
Based on the recent release schedules of the current episodes, HBO’s The Last of Us episode 9 is scheduled to air on Sunday, March 12, 2023. If the studio had continued to release the game’s PC version on March 3, 2023, it would have been in the middle of the series. It would be better if the adaptation ends and then they would release the PC version afterward.
Like the usual, Naughty Dog will use the time to make sure the game launches in the best shape possible. Maybe they will make some adjustments to make the port more compatible with PC and squash some bugs along the way.
It is a good business move for Naughty Dog. Enjoy the live actions series and when it ends, release the PC version which is more accessible to the whole public.
The Last of Us Part I PC will now launch on March 28, 2023.
