The University of the Philippines Gaming Guild just had their very first ACLE where they took their fellow gamers on a time-travelling trip through the history of video gaming.
Last March 26, 2015, the UP Gaming Guild presented GG WP: Iconic Games Throughout the Years as their event for the Alternative Classroom Learning Experience or ACLE. They invited Mr. Juan Carlo Castro of Eleet Gaming as the guest speaker for the event. Mr. Castro gave a very good and informative lecture on the history of video gaming by showcasing the different iconic games throughout the previous decades. He also talked about how each game contributed to the development and success of the whole video gaming industry as we see it today. Mr. Castro kept it interesting for the crowd by throwing in some bits of gaming trivia and he also kept his audience engaged on the lecture by asking questions and rewarding chocolate bars to those who got it right, all of which were enjoyed by the happy attendees.
After the lecture, a raffle was held for all the attendees. Gaming peripherals courtesy of Eleet Gaming were given away as prizes to the lucky raffle winners.
The UP Gaming Guild also had an interactive exhibit that featured the different iconic games where the attendees had the chance to play some demos. They also set-up booths in which the attendees played games like Just Dance and Guitar Hero for a fee.
The attendees of the event surely had a fun afternoon with all the information, fun facts, chocolate bars, and raffle prizes that they got to bring home from this event and they are definitely looking forward to the following events that the UP Gaming Guild will host in the near future.
