For many Warhammer 40k fans, we have sad news as the developers of Warhammer 40000 Space Marine 2 have announced that the game will be delayed until the 2nd half of 2024 for its major consoles.
Space Marine 2 Delayed
Focus Entertainment announced recently that they will be delaying the release of Space Marine 2 beyond its Winter 2023 release window. This is to be somewhat expected considering that updates on the game have been few and far between in the months leading to its supposed release. What few bits of information we’ve got came in the form of Dev Diaries.
A demo of the game was released a few months ago for the lucky few who managed to get their hands on it. It might be possible that the feedback the developers received prompted them to delay the game but it doesn’t likely as we’ve heard nothing but praise for the third-person action shooter.
The developers posted a response for players looking forward to the inevitable release of the game.
“The game is now poised to ship in the second half of 2024, to provide the time needed to properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience,” Focus said in a statement. “Focus Entertainment is committed to releasing a game that is of the highest quality and that exceeds the expectations of the countless fans of the franchise. Space Marine 2 has already accumulated over a million wish lists to date.”
The good news, however, is that the fans will expect to hear the release date of the game soon and it might come out during the Game Awards 2023 which is set to take place on December 7, 2023.
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 is set to be released next year in 2024 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). For more news about the game, check out these articles below:
