Think your PS4 can still handle the heat?

I enjoyed playing UFC 4 on the previous console generations but it may be time to say goodbye to the good ole days. UFC 5 is just around the corner of its release date and we all want to know if it’s coming out on PS4. There’s still a good number of us who still don’t have the latest gen consoles and you may be looking forward what this year’s UFC 5 from EA has to offer.

Will UFC 5 Launch on PS4?

Unfortunately, UFC 5 will not be coming to PS4. Like a slug to the face, the latest UFC game of 2023 will only be launching for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. If you want to play UFC 5, you’ll have to take the beating to your wallet and buy a PlayStation 5.

This is the first time the UFC franchise has been exclusive to the latest gen consoles. The previous UFC 4 was available for both PS4 and Xbox One. And while I enjoyed it greatly, it’s time to upgrade up on the old hardware.

If you’re wondering why UFC 5 is barring its release on the PS4 and Xbox One, a trailer from the Official Presentation shows off features that older hardware may have trouble with. The new Frostbite engine not only features updated graphics, but dynamic lighting and overhauled character fidelity to really bring the MMA fights to life in the Octagon.

I played UFC 4 before and let’s be honest, the blows could feel a bit clumsy and awkward at times. UFC 5 promises to deliver on a more realistic fighting experience that really makes each blow feel impactful. The latest improvements may give your PS4 a beating it can’t handle.

With UFC 4 being exclusive to the latest-gen consoles, it may be time to think about upgrading your hardware. UFC 5 is bringing back iconic figures like Fedor Emelianenko who hasn’t been playable since EA Sports MMA all the way back in 2010. Pre-order the Deluxe Edition before its release October 27 and you’ll also get legendary boxing figures like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson as part of the fighting roster.

If you still have your old PS4, it may be time to call in the towel. While there are still plenty of games you can play on this old-gen hardware, the latest and best ones are coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
