Xbox has expressed that it is not interested in “playing the exclusivity game” with the Call of Duty franchise if the company acquires it.
Xbox Head Phil Spencer recently spoke in an interview with Xbox On talking about the topic of exclusive content for their Xbox players if the Activision Blizzard deal pushes through. He quickly denied that possibility.
“When we say available everywhere or not exclusive, we want to make absolutely the best version of Call of Duty for any player on any of those platforms,” Spencer replied.
The Xbox boss then mentions how PlayStation handled Hogwarts Legacy’s DLC content. He knows that it is part of the industry and it happens, but when it comes to game exclusivity, they will not do that. What Xbox wants is to offer the best version of its game to ALL platforms for everyone to enjoy.
“We want to make sure those players feel like they have a great experience on the platform they choose to play on.”
