Ys X Nordics is the latest Ys game that fans are thrilled about as it was released in Japan last September 2023. With an immersive combat system and nostalgic adventure RPG graphics, this game is expected to be a hit once it comes to the West. During the Anime Expo, Xseed announced to everyone the game will officially be coming to the West and has an official release date that fans will need to prepare for.

During the Anime Expo, Ys X Nordics was announced and this game is an adventure RPG game where it takes place after the events of Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter. The 17-year-old Adol Christie travels to Celceta but suddenly, he encounters two factions, The Normans, a seafaring people known to be powerful warriors, and The Griegs, unkillable beings that threaten the welfare of the citizens of Obelia Bay. Within that encounter comes another heroine who will join Adol a Norman pirate known as Karja Balta. Upon their meeting, an all-new adventure will begin as dangerous tides, enemies and even obstacles will be shown.
Ys X Nordics will be introducing a brand new combat system called the Cross Action System which allows players to to fight using two modes, which can be interchanged seamlessly by holding a button:
- Solo Mode
- a fast-paced system that uses step and dash-based movement that uses basic attack combos and can switch to his partner building up speed attacks
- Combination Mode
- generates a powerful combination of attacks where two characters combine their skills and combos and ultimately cause a storm along the way.
Ys X Nordics is set to be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) on October 25, 2024. More info about the game can be found on the official website.
