2017 is coming to a close and as the year ends I reminisce about the best action/adventure games that we had the pleasure of playing this year. I don’t really have a number in mind as to how many they are but I will think of them as we go along. This list will include games that I personally love as Action/Adventure games regardless of whether I played them or not.

    Nioh

Developer: Team Ninja | Publisher: Tecmo Koei Games | Release Date: February 7, 2017

From our review: “This is an excellent game and a game like this deserves to have a spot in your collection.” – 10/10

    Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Developer: Naughty Dog | Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment | Release Date: August 22, 2017

From our review: “This game has proven that Nathan Drake was not the only star of the game. Anyone that Naughty Dog brings front and center can truly shine with their creative writing and great character development.” – 10/10

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

Developer: Guerrilla Games | Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment | Release Date: February 28, 2017

From our review: “Horizon entices me to come back for more, there was never a time that I got bored with its side-missions which I usually care less in most RPG titles.” – 10/10

    Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Developer: Monolith Productions | Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment | Release Date: October 10, 2017

From our review: “Shadow of War is incredibly ambitious and delivers so much compared to Shadow of Mordor. The Nemesis system is bigger, badder, and more complex than ever.” – 9/10

    Assassin’s Creed Origins

Developer: Ubisoft Montreal | Publisher: Ubisoft | Release Date: October 27, 2017

From our review: “It revitalized the series into new heights and I cannot wait where the next adventure will take us.” – 8.9/10

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Developer: Nintendo | Publisher: Nintendo | Release Date: March 3, 2017

From our review: “Not many games are able to emulate the sense of adventure and wonder that Breath of the Wild has; it’s a game you’ll be playing for a long time and one you’ll definitely keep coming back to.” – 10/10

    Mass Effect: Andromeda

Developer: Bioware | Publisher: Electronic Arts | Release Date: March 21, 2017

From our review: “From the perspective of a new fan of the Mass Effect franchise, this game was a huge amount of fun and I never felt myself left out for not having played the other 3 Mass Effect games.” – 9/10

    Gravity Rush 2

Developer: SIE Japan Studio | Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment | Release Date: January 20, 2017

From our review: “I would daresay that Gravity Rush 2 will be a main addition to any collector’s library and there’s just so much to do in this game that even when you finish the main story, you will come back for the side missions and the challenges.” – 8.9/10

    Hollow Knight

Developer: Team Cherry | Publisher: Team Cherry | Release Date: February 25, 2017

From our review: “This game is not a walk in the park but once you get over the obstacles it gives you, what you get is a game that makes you feel accomplished and makes you yearn for more of that experience.” – 8.7/10

    Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

Developer: Ninja Theory | Publisher: Ninja Theory | Release Date: August 8, 2017

So that’s it from us. Which ones were your favorite action/adventure games? Let us know in the comments!
