Assassin’s Creed Origins’ Plot will be more about the Brotherhood, World is more Natural

Hence, the title “Origins”. Ashraf Ismail, the creative director of Black Flag, shared an important focus of Assassin’s Creed Origins‘ plot.

Ismail told Eurogamer that it’s still in line with the Assassin’s Creed main story arc that we all knew in the first Assassin’s Creed.

“It’s all in line with the lore! We’re telling the origins of the Brotherhood as we knew it in AC1. The symbols, the rituals.

Indeed. And the mentor structure. The symbol of the eagle. How did this all come to be, and what journey did our hero Bayek go on to form the Brotherhood. We kept the viewpoints even though they don’t do what they used to. They don’t unfog the map. You do get question marks, but you have to go to a place to explore. And yes we do tell the tale of the cut finger.”There’s one big plot spoiler here. It seems that the protagonist, Bayek, in Assassin’s Creed Origins is the first Assassin and founder of the Creed.

Now, Ismail also shared more about the improvements they have for Assassin’s Creed Origins saying that every NPC, even animals, will have a purpose in the game.

“The AI structure – when we started this game we knew it was roughly the size of Black Flag’s world if all the water was replaced with land – we had to change the way we think about that.” Ismail told Eurogamer. “So now every NPC and animal in the world has a purpose, a function, a day-night cycle. They need to go to eat, sleep, go to the washroom.” he continued.

This is interesting to see as it’s more similar to the open-world like Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. We get to witness more lifelike reactions and mindset AIs in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this October 27.
