Marvel’s Avengers Day One Patch is Approximately 18GB

Marvel's Avengers

Game company Square Enix recently revealed the file size of the Day One Patch for upcoming video game Marvel’s Avengers and it is quite large.

The day one patch will be 18GB in size. Those who purchased the physical copy of the game will have to connect to the internet one time in order to download this patch. The ones who got the digital version will get this patch together with the game’s initial download.

After downloading the patch, the game can now be played solo without constant internet connection.  To play online co-op, players will need to be online to make it work. In order to download post-launch content like new heroes, missions and regions for free, they will also need to connect to the internet.

Game developer Crystal Dynamics confessed that while they were able to adjust development to a work-from-home environment quite quickly, they did lose a bit of production time in the transition. They did their best, but there were some updates and refinements that were not able to get into the game. The Day One Patch addresses all of those concerns and makes sure that everyone has the same great experience at launch.

Aside from the adjustments, the Day One Patch includes localization files for the game’s dialogue. It includes 15 different languages. It is also based from feedback from the Beta weekends.

Marvel’s Avengers will be available on Sept. 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will be launched when the next-gen consoles are released this coming holiday season.
