Game developer GSC Game World recently shared new information in regards to their upcoming and ambitious video game sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
According to the developers with media outlet Gaming Bolt, their upcoming game will stay as an Xbox Series X/S console exclusive. They have no plans to bring it to the opposite side, the PlayStation 5. They also added that one of the reasons for them to stay with Microsoft’s side is the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
“No plans for now,” GSC Game World said. “We negotiated the possibilities with Microsoft and saw several good opportunities for the brand — including Game Pass. We’re concentrating on the Xbox Series X/S version.”
So, this will be one of the many console exclusives that the Xbox side will have. What do you think of the exclusivity? Tell us your thoughts below!
Now if you are wondering why this game will not have current-gen versions, PR Manager Zakhar Bocharov shared an answer to that. “Exactly. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a next-gen game, and it’s impossible to run it on Xbox One or PS4,” he said. The developers did not want to be limited by their hardware.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC. No specific release date announced yet. It will offer 4K resolution, support HDR on both X and S, ray-tracing, and 120 FPS performance.
