Just Cause New Title Confirmed to be in Development

Square Enix has actually confirmed that there is a new Just Cause title in development.

The confirmation came from Square Enix’s recent investors briefing. No other details were shared, but it does prove that it exists and the game company just casually did that during the briefing.

“Our materials provide an overview and details of the Transaction, but I note that its primary purpose was a reorientation of our portfolio,” says the report. “We especially revisited our studio and title portfolios from the perspective of stepping up our offering of online titles that we develop for the North American and the European market.

“We want to focus on creating new titles that align with our strategy, including ones that leverage new IP. The Just Cause franchise will remain our IP, and we are at work developing a new title in the franchise.”

It is possible that this is going to be a sequel to Just Cause 4 or just a spin-off, but no confirmation yet from Avalanche Studios. Just Cause 4 launched in 2018.
