Scattered across the Sanctuary in Diablo 4 are statues with faded plaques on them. Inscribed on these plaques are cryptic messages that are barely readable. Learning how to decipher these messages will give out various buffs that could give players an advantage with their journey ahead.

Read ahead as we share the secrets on how to solve the riddle of the faded plaques in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Faded Plaque Riddle Answers

To solve all Diablo 4 Faded Plaque Riddles, pay attention to the word that is written in all caps, such as GIVE AID or EMBOLDEN. These words are actually clues to what action you should do next which involves your emotes.

These are the words that have been discovered so far, their respective emotes, and what buffs they provide:

    GIVE AID

If you see the “GIVE AID meek powerless” message, use the Help emote to get a temporary Barrier buff. This buff will give you a barrier that will allow you to tank more hits.

    EMBOLDEN

If you see the “EMBOLDEN soul unrelenting evil” message, use the Cheer emote to get a temporary Emboldened Spirit buff. This buff gives you a spirit companion to help you fight against enemies.

    GREET

If you see the “GREET Death open arms“ message, use the Hello emote to get a temporary Shadows’ Embrace buff. This buff makes you invisible for a few seconds.

    PROVOKE

If you see the “dare PROVOKE ire fate” message, use the Taunt emote to get a temporary Unstoppable buff. This buff cleanses any movement debuffs provides immunity against them for a few seconds.

    ATONE

If you see the “ATONE” message, use the Sorry emote to get some potions.

All you need to do afterward is to perform the particular emote that relates to the word. Access your emote wheel and do the emote close to the statue and you will get a temporary buff. You just have to make sure you know how to use emotes in Diablo 4.

How to use the Emotes and Emote Wheel in Diablo 4?

To use emotes, open the action or emote wheel by pressing on the E key if you are using a keyboard or the Up arrow if you are using a controller. You can then use the default emotes on the wheel by selecting them with the mouse or the analog stick.

To change the default emotes on the wheel, open the emote wheel again and select the Customize option. From here, choose which emotes you would like to change with a different emote.
