Sony Reportedly Cut 2023 Production Plan for PS VR2

A new report claims that Sony has now cut the 2023 production plan for PS VR2 to a certain extent.

Late last month, it was reported that Sony sold fewer PS VR2 units in the first month since it launched. It was revealed that the new VR headset has sold around 270,000 units by the end of March 2023. Now, a new report has come which could be how Sony reacted to those sales numbers.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the most reliable tech insiders, Sony has cut its 2023 production plan for PlayStation VR2 by 20%.

Also notes "there's insufficient evidence to suggest that AR/VR headsets can become the next star electronics product in the foreseeable future." https://t.co/MLT4B1MboV pic.twitter.com/581hXiRCrF

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the most reliable tech insiders, it was revealed that Sony has now cut its 2023 production plan for PS VR2 by 20 percent. It seems after they got the report that its new headset sold less, the company has now opted to produce fewer units unless it wants to have unsold stocks in its warehouses in the future.

The insider also claims that there is insufficient evidence to suggest that AR/VR headsets can become the next star electronics product in the foreseeable future. It seems the tech community in general is not that interested in VR technology anymore. Unless if these companies could make a technology that would greatly improve VR tech and make it appealing again, then it would seem it has been ignored by many at this time.
