If game time is important to you, you could be asking how long it will take to beat Tears of the Kingdom, which is the latest entry in The Legend of Zelda franchise. Moving on to even bigger worlds on the Nintendo Switch, Tears of the Kingdom promises a bigger world full of airborne islands to explore, which you can’t get to using normal means, and a lot of secrets and quests to go into. This all sounds like it’ll take a long time to finish, which is great news for most gamers.

Find out how long to beat The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom below and learn the average playtime that you’ll be spending on the game depending on what playthrough you’re going for.

How Long to Beat The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

The time it takes to beat The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could be anywhere from 20 to 30 hours. The main story quests and most of the side quests can be completed within this time frame on an average playthrough.

Although many claim that Tears of the Kingdom will take longer to beat than just 20 or 30 hours, the main story quests and a comfortable amount of side quests can be done in that time. The greatest aspect of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is its open world, which promises plenty to explore, including the new airborne islands up above. Even exploring these won’t push you past 30 hours on an average playthrough unless you’re really aiming to 100% the game.

If you’re aiming to complete all the collectibles besides just the main story, then you’re going to get closer to beating Tears of the Kingdom in 50 hours. There’s a lot to find in this new Legend of Zelda game, including shrines, skyview towers, etc. So exploring every nook and cranny will no doubt take you more time than average.

20 to 30 hours to beat a game isn’t short at all, even for an open-world game, which is known to be some of the longest in the genre. There’s a lot to do to get ready for the main story quests and side adventures, such as looking for new weapons thanks to their limited durability. There are also optional dungeons and shrines to explore, which reward you with decent equipment.
