Nintendo has recently released a new trailer for the upcoming video game Pikmin 4 which reveals a new creation system for players to enjoy.

Pikmin is a popular real-time strategy and puzzle video game series created by Shigeru Miyamoto and published by Nintendo. Players would interact with these plant-like creatures called the Pikmin which will do all the work for them like picking up items, destroying obstacles, avoiding hazards, and fighting creatures that might stand in their way. Last year, Pikmin 4 was revealed on a Nintendo Direct Presentation and now a new trailer has been spotted revealing a new system to enjoy.

“Captain Olimar and the Rescue Corps have crash-landed on a mysterious planet, and only YOU can save them!” says the description on the new trailer. “Rise to the occasion and venture forth, brave explorer!”

    Pikmin 4 Character Creation System

It was revealed in the new trailer that Pikmin 4 now has a character creation system. Players can create their own characters from the few options that the game offers for face, body type, gender, outfit, and more. It is not that extensive based on the trailer, but at least players can now choose and customize the characters they will be portraying in the game.

The Silly Story Behind Captain Olimar’s Crash Landing

The trailer also reveals the story behind Captain Olimar and the Rescue Corps crash-landing and being stranded on this mysterious planet. It was confirmed that Captain Olimar was going to explore this planet, but somehow his ship crash lands on it. The Rescue Corps then followed suit, but for some weird reason, their ship also crash lands on the planet. Now, it is up to the newbie (You) to rescue them from this predicament.

Pikmin 4 launches on July 31, 2023 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
