Developer Sabotage Studio has announced that its upcoming turn-based RPG Sea of Stars is going to launch as the first PlayStation Plus Game Catalog August 2023 title.
Sea of Stars Launching on PS Plus Game Catalog Day One
According to PlayStation Blog and the developer, Sea of Stars launches day-and-date as a PlayStation Plus Game Catalog title on August 29, 2023. It is also coming to Xbox as a day-and-date Game Pass title, as well as on PC and Nintendo Switch.
Launching on PS Plus Game Catalog means the game will be available for all Extra and Premium members on launch day. “It’s incredible for us to imagine how many more players worldwide will experience Sea of Stars and join the conversation around our project,” Level Designer Philippe Dionne said in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Demo Now Available
A demo is also now available on both PS4 and PS5. It will include areas that will be part of the final game, but the level designer states that they made sure this version will not give away any major spoilers from the main story.
“It is designed to give a hint of context but mostly showcases some gameplay systems and mechanics around dungeon crawling and combat,” Dionne explained. “It aims to provide a sense of the tone and vibe without giving away major points of the journey.”
About Sea of Stars
The game is inspired by classic turn-based RPG mechanics. It is a story of two Children of the Solstice who combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic. This is the only power that can fight off the monstrous creations made by the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.
