It has been revealed that the video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been delayed to next year.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was announced in 2021 and was first to launch in April 2022. It got pushed back eight months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine started and forced the studio to relocate from Kyiv to Prague. It then got delayed yet again after it missed its December 8, 2022 release date and was pushed to 2023. Now, it got pushed back yet again.
According to the latest version of the game’s official fact sheet, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is now delayed to 2024. Fans who have been waiting for the game to launch this year will be disappointed that it has been pushed back to sometime next year, but it does say that the project is now nearing its completion. The delay is quite minor because, before the delay, it was planned to be released during the holidays this year. This time, it is now targeting a Q1 2024 launch.
It will still be released on Game Pass day one and pre-orders have opened on the official website, Steam, and GOG. If GSC is already opening pre-orders, it is highly possible this will be the final release window and will not be delayed any further.
