    Starfield: How to Remove Traits

Traits are perks in Starfield that give players a mix of pros and cons to make their gameplay experiences different from each other. These traits are not really mandatory to have for every character, though it is possible to remove them permanently if the player wishes to do so.

Read ahead as we go through all the methods of removing the different traits in Starfield.

    Getting Traits in Starfield

Traits can be chosen during the character creation section at the start of the game. Players can select up to three traits for their characters, or they can also decide to go without a trait.

How to Remove Traits in Starfield

Traits can also be removed from characters; however, once a trait has been removed, it can no longer be regained. Additional traits cannot be added beyond the character customization section as well.

Each trait can be removed in its own different way, which mainly has something to do with the nature of their perks.

    Removing the Alien DNA trait

To remove the Alien DNA trait, you can go to any Reliant Medical facility and talk to a doctor to request the reversal of the experiment for 10,000 credits.

    Removing the Dream Home trait

To remove the Dream Home trait, go to a GalBank branch where you can either pay the entire 125,000 credit mortgage in one single payment, or you can allow the bank to foreclose on the house and give up your house ownership.

    Removing the Empath trait

To remove the Empath trait, you can go to any Reliant Medical facility and talk to a doctor to request the removal of the trait for 10,000 credits.

    Removing the Extrovert trait

To remove the Extrovert trait, head over to the House of Enlightenment in The Well and talk to Andy Singh so that he can coach you on not becoming an extrovert anymore.

Removing the Freestar Collective Settler trait

To remove the Freestar Collective Settler trait, you will need to talk to Marshall Blake in Akila City, then tell him that you no longer feel like you want to be a part of the collective anymore.

Removing the Neon Street Rat trait

To remove the Neon Street Rat trait, go to Neon and talk to Madam Sauvage in her bar. Go through the dialogue and choose the faction option where you tell her that you’re not happy being back in Neon, then confirm that you want to leave your past behind.

Removing the United Colonies Native trait

To remove the United Colonies Native trait, you will need to talk to Administrator Rookes in the Colonial Health and Human Resources in New Atlantis, then tell him that you no longer feel like you want to be a part of the colony anymore.

    Removing the Hero Worshipped trait

To remove the Hero Worshipped trait and make the Adoring Fan leave you for good, you will have to talk to him and tell him to stop being your fan. You will also have to successfully persuade him to do so. If you have him added to your crew, he will also leave your crew for good. Another option is to talk to him and choose the Attack option, which will make him vulnerable to damage. Attacking the Adoring Fan outright without going through this dialogue will make him invulnerable to damage.

    Removing the Introvert trait

To remove the Introvert trait, head over to the House of Enlightenment in The Well and talk to Andy Singh so that he can coach you on not becoming an introvert anymore.

    Removing the Kid Stuff trait

To remove the Kid Stuff trait, head to the Pioneer Tower in New Atlantis to visit your parents. Then, talk to one of them and tell them that you cannot afford to send them money every week. This will make them look for a new, cheaper place to move into.

    Removing the Raised Enlightened trait

To remove the Raised Enlightened trait, head over to the House of Enlightenment in The Well and talk to Andy Singh. Tell him that you no longer want to be a part of the Enlightened anymore, and then confirm your decision.

    Removing the Raised Universal trait

To remove the Raised Universal trait, head over to the Sanctum Universum in New Atlantis and talk to Keeper Aquilus. Tell him that you no longer want to be a part of the Sanctum Universum anymore, and then confirm your decision.

    Removing the Serpent’s Embrace trait

To remove the Serpent’s Embrace trait, you will need to go to the UC Security Office in New Atlantis and head into their prison cell area. You can then find Mir’za, a worshipper of the Great Serpent. Talk to her and select the option about having a crisis of faith, then confirm that you’re leaving the embrace.

    Removing the Spaced trait

To remove the Spaced trait, you can go to any Reliant Medical facility and talk to a doctor to request the removal of the trait for 10,000 credits.

    Removing the Taskmaster trait

To remove the Taskmaster trait, head over to the House of Enlightenment in The Well and talk to Andy Singh so that he can coach you on removing the trait.

    Removing the Terra Firma trait

To remove the Terra Firma trait, you can go to any Reliant Medical facility and talk to a doctor to request the removal of the trait for 10,000 credits.

    Removing the Wanted trait

To remove the Wanted trait, you can find one of the Tracker Alliance Agents and pay them 3,000 credits for their service to remove the bounty from your head. There is an agent near the House of the Enlightened in The Well, and one in Cydonia on Mars.
