Rockstar Games has recently uploaded the Red Dead Redemption update 1.03 and it sneakily adds a new and most welcome option.
Red Dead Redemption update 1.03 is a few hundred MB in file size, but it actually adds the most important option for fans who are playing on the PS5 console. With the latest update, PS5 players can finally toggle 60fps on the menu to let them enjoy the fastest gameplay of the game with new-gen hardware. When it launched, the game only ran at 30fps across all platforms, which disappointed a lot of fans since they were expecting at least some additional new-gen improvement to it that mattered.
Fans are definitely happy with this new addition after Red Dead Redemption received harsh backlash when it launched, especially on the Nintendo Switch. Many complained that the game was too expensive for its “improvements” which were actually not that much and lackluster. It does not even include multiplayer or a PC version, which only makes it worse. Compared to the Xbox Series X version which had 4K resolution, the PS5 only had lower specs and not even 60fps. This update finally satiated the fans, only for a little bit.
Check out the short patch notes below:
- Added an option to enable 60 FPS when played on PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility
- Added an option to enable subtitles upon first booting the game
- General bug fixes and improvements
