Once you’re ready to get deeper into LEGO Fortnite, regular material won’t do anymore, and you’ll need gems like Rough Amber and Cut Amber to get access to the good stuff. This is when things start to get more challenging, as resources like the Amber gems required to make it are hard to get. Thankfully, it’s an easy process once you learn how to do it for the first time.
In this guide, I’ll teach you where to find Rough Amber and get access to Cut Amber, including what you need to do to make it in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Get Rough Amber and Cut Amber
To get Cut Amber, you’ll first need to find Rough Amber, which is only found on top of stone pillars in the Dry Valley biome. In order to reach it, you’ll have to build some stairs using wood and then mine amber deposits using an Uncommon Pickaxe. Once you have Rough Amber, you can use the Gem Cutter to turn it into Cut Amber.
You might have to journey far to get to the Dry Valley biome, depending on the seed made when your LEGO Fortnite world is created. You’ll always spawn in the Grasslands biome, which is rich with resources for beginners, but if you want the rarer resources, you’ll have to be comfortable stepping away from home. The temperature in the Dry Valley biome can be deadly during the day when the heat is high and freezing cold during the night, so it’s one of the more challenging biomes.
The Dry Valley biome is the only place you’ll find amber deposits to mine Rough Amber so you’ll have to be prepared. They can only be found on top of the stone pillar formations. You’ll need at least an Uncommon Pickaxe to mine for Rough Amber because it won’t work with the common Pickaxe. To get an Uncommon Pickaxe, you’ll have to upgrade the Crafting Bench at least once.
Once you have the Rough Amber, you’ll need a Gem Cutter Station if you haven’t made one already. You’ll need x20 Marble Slabs, x5 Sand Claws, x5 Rough Amber, and x3 Sand Shells in order to build one. After placing the structure wherever you want, deposit the Rough Amber and wait for it to turn into Cut Amber before taking it all.
Cut Amber can be used to make the next level of tools like a Rare Pickaxe. You’re going to want to hit up amber deposits as much as you can if you want to farm a lot of it.
