Ubisoft recently shared on social media that its upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows gets delayed to March 20, 2025.
“We wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible fans and dedicated teams for your unwavering support since our announcement in September to refine further and polish Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” wrote Marc-Alexis Côté on a social media post.
“Since November, we’ve been thrilled to share our progress through Gameplay Overviews, and the overwhelming excitement has truly inspired us. Each week has brought valuable feedback from our community. While we’ve already made remarkable strides, we believe a few additional weeks are needed to implement that feedback and ensure an even more ambitious and engaging day-one experience.”
Back in mid-2024, Ubisoft Quebec shared that they’ll be delaying its release from its 2024 launch window to February 14, 2025, to fix existing issues. However, it seems like the team needs more time to further “refine and polish” based on community feedback.
The team over at Ubisoft Quebec is hard at work to deliver us possibly the best Assassin’s Creed experience in years. “We remain committed to delivering a high-quality, immersive experience-fostered by ongoing dialogue between our players and development teams.”
I, for one, appreciate developers extending more time to launch a game without issues, and the executives at Ubisoft need to consider the state of the game before putting games up on shelves just to meet shareholder expectations. It’s always best to place the players’ experience first before anything else, and we all know revenue will follow when the game launches in an incredible state.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a new release date and it’s expected to launch on March 20, 2025, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
