DOOM: The Dark Ages PC system requirements revealed

DOOM: The Dark Ages is set to launch on PC this May 15, 2025. If you’re planning to buy the game on a PC, then you must check first the system requirements to see if you can run it at least on minimum, right? Like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, id Software’s DOOM: The Dark Ages will require you to at least have a ray-tracing capable graphics card to run the game.

As future games are being developed, ray-tracing cores have been utilized by developers now to easily integrate global illumination and reflections, saving cost and time for developers compared to creating lightmaps manually to simulate lighting and shadows. It’s expected developers will go down this path as we’re now in a time where labor costs are high and developing games are getting much more expensive.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is the second game to launch with the strict requirement of needing ray-tracing capable graphics cards.

It’s important to note that you will need a ray-tracing capable GPU to run DOOM: The Dark Ages.

    Minimum PC Requirements

To run DOOM: The Dark Ages on 1080p, 60 FPS, and Low Video Settings, you will need:

    OS: Win10 64Bit / Win 11 64Bit

CPU: AMD Zen 2 or Intel 10th Generation at 3.2Ghz with 8 cores / 16 threads or better (examples: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or better, Intel Core i7 10700K or better)

GPU: NVIDIA or AMD hardware ray tracing-capable GPU with 8GB dedicated VRAM or better (examples: NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super or better, AMD RX 6600 or better)

    System RAM: 16GB

Storage Capacity: 512GB or higher NVME SSD (100GB Available)

    Recommended PC Requirements

To run DOOM: The Dark Ages on 1440p, 60 FPS, and High Video Settings, you will need:

    OS: Win10 64Bit / Win 11 64Bit

CPU: AMD Zen 3 or Intel 12th Generation at 3.2Ghz with 8 cores / 16 threads or better (examples: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or better, Intel Core i7 12700K or better)

GPU: NVIDIA or AMD hardware ray tracing-capable GPU with 10GB dedicated VRAM or better (examples: NVIDIA RTX 3080 or better, AMD RX 6800 or better)

    System RAM: 32GB

Storage Capacity: 512GB or higher NVME SSD (100GB Available)

    Ultra 4K PC Requirements

To run DOOM: The Dark Ages on 4K, 60 FPS, and Ultra Video Settings, you will need:

    OS: Win10 64Bit / Win 11 64Bit

CPU: AMD Zen 3 or Intel 12th Generation @3.2Ghz with 8 cores / 16 threads or better (examples: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or better, Intel Core i7 12700K or better)

GPU: NVIDIA or AMD hardware ray tracing-capable GPU with 16GB dedicated VRAM or better (examples: NVIDIA RTX 4080 or better, AMD RX 7900XT or better)

    System RAM: 32GB

Storage Capacity: 512GB or higher NVME SSD (100GB Available)

DOOM: The Dark Ages launches on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S this May 15, 2025.
