Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC (via Xbox Play Anywhere) on January 22, 2026. Preorders are now live both digitally and at select retailers.

First released in 2020, Final Fantasy VII Remake reimagined the legendary RPG with cutting-edge visuals, hybrid combat, and an emotionally charged retelling of Cloud Strife’s journey. Intergrade, its expanded edition, adds enhanced graphics and Episode INTERmission, a side story featuring fan-favorite ninja Yuffie Kisaragi.

The game earned multiple RPG of the Year awards, and its arrival on Switch 2 and Xbox marks a major milestone in Square Enix’s push to bring the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy to more players worldwide.

New “Streamlined Progression” Feature for Switch 2 and Xbox

Square Enix is introducing an exclusive Streamlined Progression mode on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox platforms. This accessibility option allows players to experience the story with less challenge, thanks to:

    • Unlimited HP and MP
    • Constantly maxed ATB and Limit gauges
    • 9,999-damage attacks
    • Faster weapon ability unlocks

It’s designed as an entry point for newcomers who want to focus on cinematic storytelling rather than grinding through traditional RPG mechanics.

Square Enix Confirms Trilogy Will Be Multi-Platform

Alongside this announcement, Square Enix reaffirmed that the entire Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy will eventually be available on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. The third and final installment is currently in development.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 next year, January 22, 2026. The game is already available on PS5 and PC.
