Resident Evil Requiem Drops New Live Action Trailer

Capcom has released a live action trailer for Resident Evil Requiem in lieu of its release. The trailer, titled “Evil Has Always Had A Name,” takes a significant focus on the lives lost during the events of Raccoon City, specifically focusing on one mother and her daughter.

This isn’t the first time Capcom has released a trailer for Resident Evil. There was also a live action promotion for Resident Evil 5 featuring Chris Redfield dealing with the trauma of fighting biohazards. What’s different is that this time we’re looking at the civilian cost and loss of lives whom are affected by these biohazards.

The trailer paints a different perspective far away from the horror and action of the franchise. It’s a reminder that the zombies we’re fighting were once still people themselves and that regular, uninvolved people are always the ones who pay the heaviest price.

If the actress in the live action trailer is familiar to you, that’s because she’s played by Maika Monroe. You may have seen her from The Longlegs and It Follows. This short film was a promotion for the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem which will bring us back to Raccoon City.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to release this February 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, the Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games).
