MiHoYo Unveils New Weapons Ahead of Genshin Impact 2.1 Update

It’s only three days before the launch of Genshin Impact 2.1 update, but developer MiHoYo continues to feed updates to the community in anticipation of the release. On Saturday, the developer unveiled the new weapons that the players can look forward to.

According to Game Rant, the developer posted an update listing down the new weapons that will be released with the 2.1 update. These include two polearms, the five-star Engulfing Lightning and the four-star The Catch.

The developer describes the Engulfing Lightning as a naginata, which gives a maximum bonus of 80% to the player’s ATK. It gives an Energy Recharge of 28%, which boosts ATK power. If you use an Elemental Burst, you gain 30% Energy Recharge. MiHoYo says that the weapon is only available while the Event is going, and not through the basic Wish banner.

The second polearm, The Catch, can only be obtained by joining the Inazuma Fishing Association, which also debuts with Update 2.1. It boosts damage from an Elemental Burst by 16%, while also increasing CRIT rate by 6%.

Last but not least is the Claymore, a polearm made from an air-dried fish that otherwise boosts Elemental Burst damage by 12%, and summoning a huge wave of tuna that boosts ATK by 100%. The announcement also states specifically that the Claymore can be eaten in times of need.

It was also reported that Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn will be joining the Genshin Impact world when Update 2.1 rolls out.
