In an interview with media outlet GameSpot, EA has recently teased about Battlefield 2042 getting 64-player modes for PC and new-gen consoles for a limited time as well as a hint of the new upcoming map and specialist.
Later this month, EA will be adding the timed limited matchmaking modes that will allow both Conquest and Breakthrough to be played with just 64 players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It is usually played with 128 players for next-gen and PC players while the last-gen versions get the 64 player cap matches. No specific details yet on when it will be released, but it will be within this month.
While a new update is planned for release later this month and the major Update 3 just got deployed, it will be next year where there will be new content for players to enjoy. One of these new contents is the new map called Exposure. EA has not shared any specific details about it like its setting or anything else, but they did say that it will be something special that it “takes map design to a whole new level.”
Aside from the new map, a new specialist will be introduced as the game’s first live season will be launched next year. It comes with new weapons, gadgets, and vehicles. No schedules have been shared yet, but hopefully it will turn things around after a disastrous launch.
Battlefield 2042 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
