Battlefield 2042 Season 6 Release Date
Battlefield 20242 Season 6 is set to release on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. On the same day, the season’s battle pass and the new Ultimate Pack will go live.
Battlefield 2042 Season 6 New Map – Redacted
Redacted is a close-quarters, claustrophobic map inspired by favorites like Operation Metro and Operation Locker. This is the first map to be set entirely indoors, and you’ll need to time those slides perfectly around tight corners to ambush your foes or risk being ambushed yourself successfully. This is also the first time in 2042 that vehicles will not be accessible on a map. But that would stop them from adding a new 2 person vehicle that can be used on other maps.
At the very heart of the map is a simulated testing area complete with a fake forest with a fake sky. The developers wanted something that could fit the narrative of the season while going into that uncanny valley where all is not what it seems.
As for the layout of the map itself, there are three map points of attack leading to the heart of the facility. However, there are certain “red tunnels” that connect to the frame of the whole facility, like a spider web at the far flanks. Just try not to camp inside, players stand out in front of the red lights.
Battlefield 2042 Gameplay
When it comes to what players can expect from the map itself, expect a lot of chaos to ensure as the new map is a 64 players-based map with the option to turn it up to 128 via Portal. Because the location is underground, call-ins and Angel’s supply crate will be disabled, even in the dome areas.
Other than that, the developers have confirmed that there will be no new mode at the launch of the season.
Comes in Ammo and Health variety
Support items in the form of ammunition and health pouches have been added to the game. As far as we know, the items are only available on Support characters. According to the developers, the resupply to other players is a Support only action. This gives clearer roles and incentivizes squad play.
As for the team’s decision to ultimately add them to the game, it boiled down to their mobility. They will not replace creates in terms of utility but if your team is in need of a quick top-off without waiting around, they are a great alternative.
Battlefield 2042 Season 6 New Weapons
The three new weapons being introduced into season 6 are the VHX D3 assault rifle, L9CZ Sidearm, and the G428 DMR.
Great for medium-close range combat
Battlefield 2042 Season 6 Battle Pass
The new season’s battle pass will include over 100 tiers of rewards. As with previous seasons, it will include gameplay-affecting items, such as weapons, vehicles, and gadgets. These are earnable without purchasing the Premium version of the battle pass.
They are also introducing the Battle Pack Ultimate Pack, a new option that will allow players to progress faster through tier skips. On top of that, it will grant you exclusive skins.
Battlefield 2042 Season 6 New Vehicle
This season also debuts a new vehicle to help you and your squadmates move across the battlefield more quickly. The YUV-2 Pondhawk is a dynamic two-person transport that can rapidly get you into and out of combat in the blink of an eye.
From what we were able to find out, the Pondhawk is loosely classified as a “ground vehicle that floats.” It will not be able to reach the height of helicopters but it will have the distinct advantage of not sticking to the ground.
It shares the same slot as LATV and you can it at any time on maps that allow it. It has the same durability as light air vehicles such as the Littlebird. The vehicle’s purpose is to be a form of rapid transport between two points without mounted weaponry. However, it is not entirely defenseless. The passenger can still use all their equipped weapons or gadgets. You’ll also have access to thermal smoke canisters to defend yourself against lock-ons.
