Alan Wake 2: General Store Shotgun Lock Code

The powerful shotgun in Alan Wake 2 is just nesting behind a display case at the back of the General Store in Cauldron Lake. Considering how tough the taken are in Alan Wake 2, even early in the game, you’re going to need all the firepower you can get. You can get the shotgun, but you first have to get the code to unlock the lock by finding the right code.

In this guide, I’ll show you the General Store lock code in Alan Wake 2 so you can get the shotgun.

    General Store Shotgun Lock Code

The General Store Lock Code is 739, in order from top to bottom. Go to the lock in the backroom where you found Nightingale’s heart and input the code on the display case. This will unlock it for you, allowing you to retrieve the shotgun.

So how exactly is the code 739? Well, if you take a look at the notepad on the counter next to the cash register, you’ll see a bunch of numbers crossed out. These numbers are 705, 713, 717, and 723. Now take a look at the lottery ticket to the right, and you’ll notice there’s a bunch of numbers, which are 05, 13, 17, 23, 39, and 45.

Did you see the pattern? 705, 713, 717, and 723. What’s next? 739. It just so happens that the lock on the display case needs three numbers. The code always starts with 7, and the lottery ticket decides which code is next up.

The business card for Madame Agnieszka has nothing to do with the code. It’s red herring for the note on the display telling you to look at the “Lady Fortuna” on the counter. In this case, fortune doesn’t mean fortune teller, but the lottery ticket.

Now that you have the code, you can open the lock and get that shotgun. It’s extremely useful, especially early in the game, as in Saga Anderson, when the Taken can take more than a couple of rounds up close to put down.
