Team Asobi, the team over at PlayStation, and our adorable little white and blue bot won the most prestigious award this year at The Game Awards 2024. Just a few moments ago, Astro Bot was crowned Game of the Year, and the game won a few more categories such as Best Game Direction, Best Action/Adventure Game, and Best Family Game.
Astro Bot launched earlier this year in September, receiving critical acclaim from critics for its amazing level design, amazing puzzles, and incredible nostalgia. In my Astro Bot review, I wrote: “Astro Bot not only drives you back down memory lane, it also successfully captures your heart by bringing your beloved franchises into one, big adorable package that brings a lot of experiences back from the depths of our core memory. Astro Bot is lovable, charming, and most importantly, an incredible game.”
The game sits at a 99% critics recommend rating on OpenCritic, with a 95% top critic overall score. Astro Bot deserves the Game of the Year award at this year’s The Game Awards.
