It has been officially confirmed that a new voice actor will be taking on the role of the sexy Umbra Witch in the upcoming Bayonetta 3.
Bayonetta 3 Old Voice Actor Departs
Before, Bayonetta in English has always been voiced by voice actor Hellena Taylor, which gives the Umbra Witch her sexy charm. Taylor does the job so well that once a fan would listen to her they would easily know she voiced Bayonetta. Unfortunately to some circumstances, she could not voice the witch anymore and had to be replaced.
New Voice Actor Named
In an interview with Game Director Yusuke Miyata, he spoke with the media outlet Game Informer to talk about replacing Bayonetta’s voice actor. According to him, “overlapping circumstances” made it impossible for Taylor to take on the role, which has now been switched to another voice actor, Jennifer Hale. He thinks that she is a good match for the character.
Hale has voiced popular characters in the past like the great Commander Shephard in Mass Effect and Naomi Hunter in Metal Gear Solid.
She Will Exceed Fans Expectations
The director said that he understood the worries of the fans about the late change. He assured them that Hale’s performance is beyond what the team could have imagined. “I’m confident that her portrayal of Bayonetta will exceed our fans’ expectations,” he said.
Japanese Versions Still Remains the Same
Meanwhile, the Japanese version will still be voiced by Atsuko Tanaka.
Bayonetta 3 launches on October 28, 2022 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
