Bayonetta 3 Developers Releases Statement in Regards to Recent Controversy

New statement from PlatinumGames.

PlatinumGames has now released a new statement in regard to the recent controversy behind Bayonetta 3.

This controversy all started when the original voice actor of Bayonetta 3 Hellena Taylor revealed a “bombshell” about her pay for the full session to voice Bayonetta once again. According to her, PlatinumGames contacted her and offered a deal that had pay that was “insulting” to her talents. She turned it down and then she was replaced by the new voice actor for Bayonetta, Jennifer Hale. The supposed pay was $4,000 for the whole session for voicing the popular game character. The internet went ballistic and quickly blamed PlatinumGames and even Hale in the process.

Hale on the other hand was quite cool with her response. She did not reply with aggressiveness and just said she fully supports the voice actor community and just says that the game is not carried by the voice actors alone because there are other individuals involved in them as well. She did not berate Taylor at all and stayed neutral.

As the controversy started to evolve quickly, a new bombshell was revealed. A new report claimed that Taylor might have left some details out from her big reveal. The report from Bloomberg said that it was not actually just $4,000 for the whole session but actually it was going to be at least five sessions and each was going to be $3,000 to $4,000 for four hours in the studio. Then Taylor then made a counter offer and asked for a six figure sum, which the company refused. They then recruited Hale for the role. Taylor was asked if she wants to do a cameo in the game for a fee of one session, but she turned it down.

Now, PlatinumGames has released a statement in regard to the controversy. They stated that they appreciate everyone who has contributed to creating the Bayonetta series over the years and the community that supported them all the way. They then said that they will give full support to Jennifer Hale as the new Bayonetta and have aligned with everything in her statement.

The game company is now asking the community to stop making further comments that would disrespect Hale or any other contributors to the series.

So far, Taylor has not made any other statements after her big “revelation” last time. Hale has also just moved on and now continuing with her work. Still, the situation is evolving way too fast and this might just implode any second.
