Collect Wisplanterns and Boatshells for the Cultural Exchange request from Rodine in Monster Hunter Rise.


Upgrading one’s Argosy Submarine Slots in Monster Hunter Rise requires two materials known as Wisplanterns and Boatshells. They are the keys to unlocking the Request Cultural Exchange and are very easy to find in the game. In this guide, players will know where to find Wisplanterns and Boatshells, so read on and enjoy.

What are Boatshells and Wisplanterns in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak?

Boatshells are oversized oysters that are too big to eat in one bite and are sold for 46G each while Wisplanterns are flame-red berries that are prized as a good luck item and are sold for 44G each. Both items are account items that can be used to unlock another submarine for your trading needs at the Argosy.

How to unlock and Complete the Cultural Exchange Submarine Request

In order to unlock the Cultural Exchange quest, you must complete the 3-Star Village Urgent Quest after finishing the required 3-Star Key Quest. Rondine will give you the Cultural Exchange quest in the Buddy Plaza at The Argosy after you finish the 3-Star Village Urgent Quest.

To complete the Cultural Exchange quest, you need to go to the Shrine Ruins and Frost Islands to farm Boatshells (x3) and Wisplanterns (x3).

Wisplanterns Map Locations

Wisplanterns can be found in the Shrine Ruins and the easiest way to gather them is to take on High Ranking Quests. These berries can be found randomly at a Shimmering Red Berry Plant. If players managed to unlock the secondary camp in the Shrine Ruins, there will be two berries nearby that they can be gathered.

Boatshells Map Locations

The Boatshells are found easily in the Frost Islands They can be easily found in any rank difficulty in the game and are usually located nearby bodies of water. To make things easier for the players, use the Palamute and its Sniff ’em Out! ability to help gather large oysters.
