CD Projekt RED has now addressed the recent rumors about the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion.
Yesterday, a rumor claimed that the upcoming expansion Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will have content related to the popular anime Cyberpunk Edgerunners. There was evidence that they claim was a connection between the two and they were sure there were characters from the anime that will show up in the game when the expansion arrives. CD Projekt RED has now shared a new statement to address those claims.
CD Projekt RED PR Lead Adam Grabowski recently confirmed on Twitter that there is no such thing coming with the upcoming expansion. There will be no Cyberpunk Edgerunners content that will be included in it. He clarified that the leak is not part of the game which meant Falco or the Crystal Palace casino are not included.
So the Cyberpunk Edgerunners content was debunked, unfortunately. Still, it would have been great if some new content from the anime would be added.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty launches later this year and will be exclusive for PC and current gen consoles.
