According to new reports, US gaming retailer GameStop is currently accepting returns of controversial video game Cyberpunk 2077.
Media outlet Kotaku recently shared news that the US retailer has been telling their staff to accept all returns of the controversial game from disappointed fans. It seems to be an internal memo that the management has sent to all employees. This meant even if the game has been opened, it is return the game to their store and will be refunded.
It was also revealed that the staff will label the returns as defective before they ship them to the warehouse. Even if the game could be played normally on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it is still being labeled as not working at all. Talk about harsh.
After the buggy launch of the game, it is no wonder that this retailer would do such actions. The backlash has been great and the gaming community is apparently greatly disappointed with game studio CD Projekt RED for releasing an “unfinished” game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades are supposedly coming next year.
