Dambuster Studios recently shared some new details about Dead Island 2, which focuses on hosting co-op sessions.
According to a recent blog post by the developers, it was confirmed that players that plan to host a co-op session must be on the latest generation consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X/S) or the previous generation, which are the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Now there’s some bad news for the previous, previous generation of consoles.
Players who will play the game on the original PS4 and Xbox One consoles will not be able to host a session on launch. Dambuster Studios did promise that it is currently working on a solution for this since the plan was to make everyone in Dead Island 2 able to host a session regardless of the console or platform they use. No word yet when the feature will be added to the game, but they promised it planned to come in the future.
Dead Island 2 launches on April 21, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
