Dambuster Studios has recently shared new details about Dead Island 2 related to the completion of the game’s main story.
With Dead Island 2 now previewed by various journalists, many fans are now curious about the contents of the game. One of those details is the estimate of completing the game at least its main story. Art Director Adam Olsson revealed those details in an interview with media outlet Wccftech.
According to Olsson, the main story plus some secondary missions and other activities will have a total of around 20 hours. He did confirm that there are a lot of other modes and collectibles to be done like the co-op mode, various secret items to collect, side-quests, and also replaying the game again with a new character this time. The total hours of gameplay would be further than 20 hours by then. He did not specify the exact amount though for this.
The original Dead Island game offered 18 hours to complete the game with the main story only, but if it includes the side quests, it will extend to around 27 hours. The sequel is longer than the original which means fans of the series will have a lot to expect even though it was confirmed it was not going to be open world anymore but more of a linear story.
Dead Island 2 launches on April 28, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
