Death Stranding Movie Planned by Hideo Kojima

The already cinema-esque game is being made into film!

It was recently revealed that a Death Stranding movie is now being planned with Hideo Kojima involved.

Hideo Kojima will finally get his wish of making a film and it will be under his supervision, according to media outlet Deadline. It was revealed that he and Kojima Productions will be involved with this new project and has asked for the help of Hammerstone Studios for this endeavor.

This will be the first movie that Kojima will be making in his entire career. We guess that he is nervous about this project.

There are some details that Deadline got like it is still unknown if Norman Reedus will be the one to reprise his role as Sam Porter Bridges. Executive Producer Alex Lebovici will be involved in this as well. Allan Ungar will serve as one of the executive producers too.

As for the plot, it could be following the main story of Death Stranding 1 as the sequel is still in the works.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios,” said Kojima. “This is a pivotal moment for the franchise and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with them in bringing DEATH STRANDING to the big screen.”

“We are thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to partner with brilliant and iconic Hideo Kojima on his first film adaptation,” added Lebovici. “Unlike other big budget tentpole video game adaptations, this will be something far more intimate and grounded. Our goal is to redefine what a video game adaptation could be when you have creative and artistic freedom. This film will be an authentic “Hideo Kojima” production.”
