On The Verge is the fifth mission of the Lightfall Campaign in Destiny 2. Still searching for a way to better understand the power of the strand, Nimbus suggests that the Guardian go to their special training grounds, where he can hone his ability to wield it.
Read ahead as we go through the events of On The Verge and provide tips on how to complete the mission quickly.

On The Verge Objectives:
- Follow the Strand

The recommended power for this mission is 1690. Head over to the marked location in Zephyr Concourse to initiate the mission.
Follow the Strand
Starting from the quest banner, follow the quest marker to the next location while passing by or defeating the enemies along the way.
Head for Training Grounds
Continue moving through the streets until you reach the Liming Harbor.
Locate the Strand Source
Pay attention to the quest marker to find the Strand Source. It should be situated high on top of some crates, so you will need to climb your way up to reach it.
Warm Up with Strand
With the Strand power equipped, defeat all the enemies that spawn while you make your way to the next marker.
Disable Vex Barrier
Once you arrive at the barrier, you will need to defeat Vex Hydras to obtain energy cells. Once you have an energy cell, deposit it over at the barrier. You will need to deposit three cells to overload the barrier.
Head for Training Grounds
Once the barrier is down, head into the cave and follow the marker until you arrive at Maya’s Retreat.
Cross the Chasm
Continue moving towards the marker while defeating the enemies along the way, especially the Vex Harpies who can drop Tangles that you can use against enemies. You will be able to find a Strand Source after the first two groups of enemies that you face. While you have the Strand effect, use it to grapple and swing across the ledges.
Destroy Vex Oracles
Inside the cave, you will find the Vex Oracles, the glowing white crystals that are immune to most types of damage except for Strand Tangles. In order to destroy them, you will need to defeat the Vex which will drop Tangles which you can pick up and chuck at the Oracles.
Head for Training Grounds
Follow the marker to the next area where you will finally see the Training Grounds.
Let the True Training Begin
Make your way up to the rock pillar and touch the Strand Source. Enemies will then spawn around the area for your training.
Warm Up with Strand
Using your Strand abilities, defeat all of the enemies that appear in the Training Grounds.
Destroy the Minotaur
A minotaur will spawn in, but it will be behind unbreakable shields. Destroy the Oracle first using a Tangle to disable the Minotaur’s shields, then you can gun the enemy down.
Unravel Vex Offenses
You will need to defeat four Minotaurs this time. Like before, defeat smaller Vexes first to get a Tangle, then break the Oracles so that you can defeat the Minotaurs.
Eliminate Vex Remnants
After the Minotaurs, simply defeat the remaining Cyclops and other Vexes. You will eventually lose the Strand effect, but the fight is not over yet.
Defeat the Inquisitor Mind
You will be in for another boss fight. Luckily, you can still get the Strand effect from a new source. Do so and then like before, destroy the Oracles first, then destroy the Minotaur. This should make the Hydra spawn which drops an energy cell. Pick up the energy cell and bring it up to the new floating platforms in the middle of the arena where it can be deposited. This should disable the boss’ shield and then you can deal damage to it.
Once the boss’ health is down to half, its shield will be back up again. Simply do the same steps as before starting from the Oracle all the way to disabling the boss’ shield. Upon reaching around 20% of its remaining health, you will temporarily lose the Strand effect, but you will regain it immediately, but this time it’s permanent. Finish off the boss to complete the fight. Don’t forget to collect the loot from the chest nearby. A cutscene will then play showing that the Shadow Legion are doing another attack in their quest to find The Veil.
