    Digimon Survive Karma System Explained

Bandai Namco Entertainment has recently revealed some details explaining how Digimon Survive Karma System works.

    Digimon Survive Karma System

Takuma Momozuka, the protagonist of Digimon Survive, will have to choose from the many decisions that he will face in the game as the story goes on and it will be up to the players to decide which ones. The choices range from simple like what to do in the morning to a very complex one where the party members have to fight or run away. These choices will affect the Karma score. Every choice is correct, but each one of them will affect the score in certain aspects of the game. This will also affect the growth of Takuma’s Digimon, which is Agumon.

    Karma Types

In Digimon Survive Karma System, there are three types of Karma to look out for: Moral, Harmony, and Wrathful. The scores representing each Karma will be represented by a color and will always be in the same position when players are prompted.

    Moral

The decisions that increase Moral score can range from a focus on justice, sacrifice or even prudence. The color that will represent Moral will be yellow and will always be the choice on the top right. Takuma choosing Moral decision will have Digimon of the Vaccine attribute.

    Harmony

Players who choose compassion, cooperation, and peace decisions would increase the Harmony score. It will be represented by the green color and will always be the choice on the bottom right. Having a high score on Harmony will make Takuma super compatible with Digimon of the Data attribute.

    Wrathful

Players who choose bold, direct, and object-driven decisions will increase the Wrathful score. The color for these decisions will be red and will be located on the left. It will make Takuma compatible with the Digimon of the Virus attribute.

    Attributes

The Digimon attributes will be linked to their personality, and Takuma’s Karma decisions will be the indicators of his personality type. During their adventure, players will have many chances to recruit other Digimon.

Players will be able to talk to other Digimon during Free Battle mode, which will give them a chance to recruit them in their party. They will then be asked a few questions that will relate to their personality. If they answer successfully, they can either try to recruit them or request an item. If players have a high Karma score to the corresponding attribute will give them a higher chance of recruiting those Digimon.

Attribute also has an important role in battles. The game has a rock-paper-scissor combat mechanic and here is how it works: Vaccine > Virus > Data > Vaccine. Note that these are not direct counters but it will give them a better advantage on enemies or vulnerable to their attacks. Lastly, Takuma’s highest Karma score will determine the Digivolution path that Agumon can unlock.

Digimon Survive launches on July 29, 2022 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
